NJ dogs and cats die hard like Bruce Willis.
Salem County Humane Society no kill policy gives dogs and cats forever home.
Few organizations have been helping dogs and cats longer than the Salem County Humane Society. Nestled deep in the woods in Carneys Point, NJ (home town of Bruce Willis), the shelter has been home to thousands of orphaned dogs and cats since 1976.
Recently we volunteered at the shelter, and met many caring volunteers. Here is what we learned:
“[Salem County Humane Society] is a no-kill shelter. We work hard to place animals in loving homes, but for those dogs and cats who aren’t able to attract a new family, they remain at the shelter permanently and they see all the volunteers as their family.”
JoAnne Williams, Volunteer Director
“The shelter is their forever home. If a dog or cat is adopted by a family, and 10 days or 10 years later the family, for whatever reason, can no longer take care of it, the animal has a forever home here.”
Kim Proud, Dedicated Volunteer
The Salem County Humane Society decided long ago to never abandon or kill animals in its care. We decided recently to send it a donation on behalf of the Alpha Dog Food family.
Currently the Salem County Humane Society has 77 adoptable pets in their care. For more information on adopting one, go to: petfinder dot com.
